“I wanted to create stand that I genuinely knew was the best on the market”

For the past few years I have been bouncing around different ideas for quiet, lightweight, hang on tree-stands. The idea for Hitch came to me while I was working in the marine construction trade on the St. Lawrence river in Ontario, Canada. Every day on the river we would fasten our tug boats to barges and docks by “hitching” ropes to cleats along the dock or a barge.

After a few months of seeing how quickly, efficiently and quietly this system worked I began to try to incorporate a cleat into some tree-stand designs I’d been working on, eventually coming up with the initial Hitch tree-stands prototype. A buckle-less stand that met all the requirements that I wish I saw in tree-stands available on the market. Being buckle-less allows you to hang and remove your stand quickly and quietly without that echoing “tiiiinnng” of a buckle or ratchet strap running across your stand in the quiet woods.

Why do I love this idea SO much?

As of now, it’s extremely hard to find any pre-assembled aluminum hang on stand in general, let alone a high quality, domestically made stand that’s both lightweight and ultra-quiet. We’re usually stuck choosing a run of the mill, low quality, heavy stand from a big box store or paying exchange, duties and shipping fees to order something only slightly better.

From my experience in the manufacturing business (I’m a full time welder), I knew I could come up with a better option for people with the same passion and drive to be successful bow hunters. After countless nights of working on sketches and blue prints, I’m beyond excited to introduce Hitch Tree-stands - the lightest, quietest tree-stand in the country.
